INEC reschedules Nigeria’s general elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission few hours ago postponed the Nigerian presidential elections due to logistics issues.

In a statement signed by the chairman of the commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said, “this was a difficult decision for the commission to take, but necessary for a successful delivery of the elections and the consolidation of our democracy.”

The elections have been shifted by one week. The presidential and National Assembly election will hold on Saturday, February 23, while Governorship, state House of Assembly and FCT area council elections will hold on Saturday, March 9.
