No one deserves to die over an election – Atiku

Few hours to the presidential elections, there were reports of eruption of violence leading to scores of death in Kaduna state.

The Kaduna State Government confirmed the death of 66 persons in Kajuru Local Government Area of the state.

Among the victims were 22 children and 12 women. Four wounded persons rescued by the security agencies who are now receiving treatment.

The Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar who earlier reiterated former president Goodluck Jonathan’s vow said that his ambition does not worth the blood of any Nigerian.

Reacting to the news of the killings in Kaduna, Atiku tweeted, “No one deserves to die over an election. Whichever way it goes, we are bound by a common heritage. I urge for calm & respect for all persuasions. It is my hope security be stepped up in hotspot areas. May the souls of the scores of lives lost in the Kaduna crisis rest in peace.”
