National Council of State after their meeting today at Abuja has pegged the National Minimum wage at N27,000.
This is for the least paid workers in the states and the private sector as the Federal Government will pay it’s workers N30,000.
It is decided that the private sector can choose to pay any amount so long as it is not below N27,000.
The Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige, announced the outcome of the meeting to State House Correspondents in Abuja.
Ngige also stated that a bill would be sent to the National Assembly latest on Wednesday.
